05.15.06: METAL w/ guest DJ Farron (LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH)

While we're off playing the Mission Creek Music Festival in S.F., our guest DJ for tonight will be Farron from LIGHTNING SWORDS OF DEATH. For tonight, he will be your tour guide through the world of METAL.

From the New Wave of British Heavy Metal to the bowles of Black Metal, never has a genre had such a loyal legion of underground dwellers. With punk rock being marketed and packaged like twinkies and ding-dongs, underground Metal (and we're not talking silly Pop-Metal) has kept itself underground and grass roots. With non-stop touring and underground networking and mail-order, this genre has carved its own path free of musical confinement. Creating images lyrically and musically that defy the norm and create stories and folklore that can be at times both frightening, as much as it can be just plain ridiculous. Either way, buy a neckbrace for Tuesday because tonight (Monday) you will be BANGING YOUR HEADS to the most slaying and crushing sounds!

05.08.06: Guest MORNING AFTER GIRLS

Tonight we have our very special guests all the way from Australia, THE MORNING AFTER GIRLS. They will be doing a live in studio acoustic performance. We will also be talking with them about their album, upcoming shows, and life in general.

04.24.06: Guest DUNGEON MAJESTY

We present our very special guest DJs, the cast of DUNGEON MAJESTY
If you kiddies aren't hip to them, then you better get clued in. Dungeon Majesty is a fantastic public access show (you can also see the episodes online) who are rapidly gaining attention for their own brew of Fantasy. They go through adventures with great B-movie type special effects, traveling through the world of Dungeons & Dragons. They will be our guests spinning everything from Psych-Rock to Library Records. A show not to be missed!

04.17.06: POWERPOP

This Monday our show will be dedicated to POWERPOP. Everything from Bubble Gum to Punky Pop. From the Ooohhhh Sha La La's to the Hey Nah Nah Nah's. You'll hear greats like Dwight Twilley, The Nerves, The Shoes, dB's, The Raspberries, The Times, Advertising, Milk n' Cookies, The Freshies, The Last, Nikki & the Corvettes, and so so much more. This will be the first show of our PowerPop series. We will have another later in the next month.

04.10.06: TECHNO

Twenty years ago, from suburban Detroit, came what's known as TECHNO. Before there were laptops, before there was pro-tools, there was a small core group of youthful visionaries who were equally inspired by the sounds of Kraftwerk, Parliament-Funkadelic, Silver Apples, Herbie Hancock and Giorgio Moroder. Armed with only synthesizers and drum machines, a new sound was created and kickstarted a worldwide musical phenomena, which has grown and mutated into a zillion sub-genres of electronic experimentation.

04.03.06: KRAUT-ROCK

Tonight our show will be dedicated to KRAUT-ROCK. From Amon Duul I/II, Ash Ra Temple, Cluster to Popol Vuh, My Solid Ground and Tangerine Dream. Also preaching some gospel via Julian Cope's writings.

03.27.06: Guest KEVIN FITZGERALD

Our guest tonight will be Kevin Fitzgerald (Circle Jerks, Eleni Mandell, Geraldine Fibbers, Midget Handjob, more). We'll be spinning 60's and 70's French Pop and all that it has influenced.

For more information on Kevin Fitzgerald, please visit www.officialcirclejerks.com and www.elenimandell.com.

03.20.06: Tribute to FELT

Our show will be a tribute to FELT. Throughout the '80s Lawrence Hayward and his band, Felt released 10 albums and 10 singles (excluding the first single which he disregarded as a release). Combining poetic lyrics with sparkling pop gems, the band never achieved any great commercial success, yet has remained a cult favorite influencing the likes of Belle and Sebastian, The Clientele and Pulp. Lawrence continued recording and releasing albums since Felt disolved, under the names Denim and Go Kart Mozart. We'll be spinning 2 hours worth of Felt and its offspring.

03.13.06: CALIFORNIA PUNK w/ guest PAUL ROESSLER

Tonight our guest will be Paul Roessler from The Screamers, 45 Grave, Nina Hagen, Twisted Roots, Nervous Gender, and countless other projects. Tune in. For more information on Paul Roessler, please go here.
